California Celebrates National Apprenticeship Day

About National Apprenticeship Day:

In celebration of National Apprenticeship Day, numerous events are taking place throughout the state. Californians can meet with employers and explore opportunities in workforce development that can lead to career advancement. Apprenticeship programs are a valuable way to uplift communities by providing earn-and-learn pathways.

National Apprenticeship Week has been celebrated for a decade and continues to expand its reach with 2,500 apprenticeship events and proclamations issued just last year. After receiving feedback, NAW is now being held in April instead of November. During the transition period, the celebration will be for a day instead of a week. In 2026, the weeklong celebration will resume, and NAW will take place from April 26 to May 2, 2026.

The U.S. Department of Labor coordinates National Apprenticeship Week to promote registered apprenticeships, in accordance with the National Apprenticeship Act (50 Stat. 664; 29 U.S.C. 50). National Apprenticeship Week now occurs each spring and full-week celebrations will resume in 2026, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.
