Judith Freyman
Management Member, Cal/OSHA Appeals Board
Judith S. Freyman was appointed by the Governor as the Management Member in August 2012 and again in 2016. Her term will end in January, 2020.
From 2001 to 2012, Judi was the leader of the Mercer/ORC Western OSH Group, a cross-industry network of senior corporate safety and health managers dedicated to improving workplace health and safety. The Group's focus was informal benchmarking and sharing best practices. Members included some 50 large corporations with headquarters or operations in the western U.S.
Prior to 2001, Judi spent some 20 years as an attorney in the legal department of ConAgra Foods, a global company. Her areas of expertise included occupational safety and health, employment and environmental issues. She also had responsibility for the implementation of the company's safety program at more than 25 plants and 80 locations.
Judi has a Bachelor of Journalism degree from the University of Missouri, Columbia and a Juris Doctor degree from Loyola University School of Law in Chicago.
