The Office of the Director - Research Unit is responsible for administering Prevailing Wage, Occupational Injuries & Illnesses Statistics, Alternative Workweek Schedule Election Results, and California Consumer Price Index.

Prevailing Wage Unit

The Prevailing Wage Unit issues prevailing wage determinations for public works projects. The prevailing wage determinations are for general construction (commercial, heavy and highway), residential, special and apprentice categories.

Work Injuries and Illnesses Unit

The Work Injuries and Illnesses Unit administers the California Survey of Occupational Injuries and Illnesses (SOII) and publishes nonfatal occupational injuries and illnesses statistics.

Alternative Workweek Schedule

The Office of the Director- Research Unit only maintains records in the Alternative Workweek Schedule Elections Database. Please contact your local branch office of the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement – Labor Commissioner’s Office for any questions regarding the use of an alternative workweek.
