In accordance with Labor Code sections, 1173, and 1178.5, and Title 8, California Code of Regulations section 11530, et seq., the Industrial Welfare Commission (IWC), finding that wages paid to employees may be inadequate to supply the cost of proper living, has appointed a wage board to consider whether the state minimum wage should be increased and, if so, how much it should be increased. A public meeting of the Wage Board will held on July 21, 2000, at 10:00 a.m., in the State Capitol, Room 112.
Pursuant to Section 11534 of the above regulations: (a)the public may attend and observe wage board proceedings but cannot make oral presentations; (b)any written testimony or other information that the public wants the wage board to consider in its deliberations should be submitted to the Industrial Welfare Commission, 770 L St., Suite 1170, Sacramento, 95814.
