The Industrial Welfare Commission (IWC) will hold a public meeting on May 5, 2000, in
the auditorium of the Van Nuys State Office Building, located at 6150 Van Nuys
Blvd., commencing at 10:00 a.m.
AGENDA
1. Approval of the minutes.
2. In furtherance of the mandate contained in the "Eight
Hour-Day Restoration and Workplace Flexibility Act of 1999," commonly known as AB 60,
the IWC will conduct review of, and entertain public comment on, the following matters:
-the skiing industry as set forth in Labor Code §§517(b) and 1182.2.
-meal periods, break periods and days of rest as set forth in Labor
Code §§512 and 516.
-duties which meet the test for an exemption for executive,
administrative and professional employees as set forth in Labor Code §515(a).
-licensed pharmacists, as set forth in Labor Code §§517(c) and 1186.
3. Any other usual business that may come before the commission.
In order for the IWC to provide an opportunity for those interested in speaking at this meeting, the amount of time within which each speaker will be allowed to address the IWC may be limited. Accordingly, the public is urged to submit written statements to the IWC regarding items on the agenda in advance of the hearing, if they have not already done so.
